Technical Director of IBD Darren Johnson says: “The new Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) regulations were expected to come into force in May or June 2017.However, the snap General Election will see Parliament dissolved before the regulations have been passed.
This means a delay to the new RHI tariff changes, heat demand caps and degression triggers. RHI will continue under the current regulations and the Department of Business Energy & Industrial Strategy has been asked for an official statement detailing an introduction date for the new regulations. IBD will pass this on when available.
RHI is budgeted to run until 2021 and currently there are no plans to change this.
