Hybrid Heat Pumps

IBD is a Daikin UK Specialist Renewable Distributor, providing its full range of Altherma hybrid heat pump solutions and application expertise to homeowners, self-builders, specifiers and installers. The company also offers its Total MCS (Microgeneration Certification Scheme) and Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) services to plumbers merchants’ and their customers as well as non-MCS accredited installers and regional housebuilders to take full advantage of heat pump opportunities.

The Daikin Altherma hybrid heat pump combines renewable air-to-water heat pump technology with a gas condensing boiler, to ensure the highest efficiency. Its smart programming helps to save up to 35% more energy than a traditional condensing boiler by automatically determining the most economically and energy efficient combination based on energy prices, outdoor temperatures and indoor heat capacity.

By extracting energy from the air, our Daikin Altherma hybrid heat pump uses an optimal combination of renewable and traditional energy to heat and provide a home with hot water. When working in heat pump mode, the system is powered by renewable energy extracted from the air and can achieve up to A++ energy efficiency.

Engineered with Daikin’s dual heat exchanger, the Daikin Altherma hybrid heat pump uses condensing technology to produce heating and domestic hot water 10 to 15% more efficiently than traditional gas condensing boilers.

Hybrid heat pumps are ideal for renovations and replacing old boilers. The compact design requires minimal installation space and integrates seamlessly with existing piping and radiators so there is no need to replace an entire system.

A combination of a multi-split system and hybrid heat pump, the Hybrid Multi is a total solution for combining air conditioning with hot water. Compatible with ranges of split units, radiators and underfloor heating, the Hybrid Multi is a smart solution for heating, cooling and domestic hot water for year-round climate comfort.
