Invisible.AC small duct HVAC air conditioning systems from IBD Distribution have been installed in refurbished offices for Wandsworth Council in Putney Bridge Road. The offices were acquired for administration staff and have been refurbished to accommodate a mixture of open plan and individual offices. A number of Invisible.AC systems have replaced split air conditioning and VRV systems and were installed by Aircair.
The project covers the installation of 24 small duct systems within office accommodation on four levels within three refurbished buildings. The Invisible.AC sdHVAC systems provide heating, cooling and ventilation to individual rooms with a key benefit being the energy performance of the system’s air handling units. These incorporate ebm.-papst fan blowers with highly efficient EC fans, providing around 70% savings on running costs compared with AC fans used on many other types of small duct system. Invisible.AC systems include variable fan speeds for closer control over energy efficiency.
Operational noise levels are also kept to a minimum and this was also critical for the office environment. The flexible ducting is simply snaked through ceiling spaces and wall cavities and the system also has the advantages of total flexibility in room layout and easy repositioning in the event of office accommodation layout changes. Room air outlets are totally unobtrusive, blending with the rooms’ ceilings and walls.
