PLUMBCITY APPOINTS IBD AS RENEWABLES AND MCS BUSINESS PARTNER
Plumbcity, East Anglia’s leading independent Plumbers’ Merchant has appointed IBD as its renewables and MCS business partner. IBD will offer its full range of products and services to Plumbcity’s large number of customers in the plumbing sector throughout the region.
Established in 2002 and with its head office at Whitehall Industrial Estate, Colchester, Essex, Plumbcity has 11 branches and many more planned as part of the its future growth plans. The company prides itself on its service and believes by offering them access to the RHI, (Renewable Heat Incentives) on offer by the government through IBD, that they are once again giving their customers exactly what the wider market wants.
In East Anglia there is a thriving self-build market, with thousands of properties that are off the mains gas grid. With the latest announcements on the domestic and commercial RHI schemes, the market for renewables is set to grow even more and Plumbcity was keen to offer its plumbers the opportunity to get involved with new potentially financially rewarding projects.
“We were looking for a mechanism to involve our customers in an area which is certain to grow, we needed a business partner with outstanding renewables and RHI experience as well as Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) knowledge. We looked at many organisations, but in IBD we believe we have found the ideal company,” says Steve Wimbledon, Managing Director, Plumbcity. “IBD has built up its reputation by offering an outstanding range of renewables, H&V products and – most importantly – these can be combined with their MCS services to give our plumbers a real one stop shop for RHI projects.”
IBD is certificated under the MCS Installers scheme and will be able to offer Plumbcity plumber customers who do not have their own MCS Certification, MCS project sign-offs covering both residential and commercial RHI installations. “This takes the onus off the plumber when it comes to the MCS accreditation that is obligatory for RHI work,” says Steve.
A full range of HVAC solutions is also available from IBD including air and ground source heat pumps, underfloor heating systems, heat recovery ventilation systems, mini-duct ventilation systems, solar thermal solutions and market leading biomass wood pellet boilers.
Ian Smith, Managing Director of IBD, says: “We are delighted to be involved with such an established and reputable merchant as Plumbcity. In addition to our products and MCS services, we will also be involved in supporting Plumbcity through product training and advice on the RHI schemes, making full use of Plumbcity’s Training Room Resources at the Colchester HQ. Customers will acquire invaluable knowledge that will assist them in winning new RHI business.”
